College of HUMANITIES, ARTS & SCIENCES

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry provides a challenging program of study. B.A. and B.S. graduates are accepted by excellent graduate or professional schools. Those with chemistry – teaching certification or chemistry – marketing degrees are sought after for positions in schools or industry. Participation in undergraduate research is encouraged. The students and faculty of the department are proud of their successful work together. Each year the department sends 10-15 students to present their research at the spring American Chemical Society meeting. Students in the department have internship opportunities with industrial partners in the region and around the country. The department has produced more undergraduate chemistry majors than any other program in the state.
