Personalized attention, research opportunities and independent laboratory projects allow undergraduate students in the Department of Physics to work with sophisticated equipment and to learn what research in physics is all about. Students have opportunities to work with faculty in such research areas as magnetic properties of materials, musical acoustics, optical spectroscopy, holographic characterization of surfaces, surface physics and physics education.
