Director of Debate
Richard coaches UNI’s nationally competitive intercollegiate debate team. He has been involved in competitive debate for over 25 years. While at UNI he has coached the team to multiple tournament wins and qualification to National Championship tournaments. He also leads campus outreach activities centered on debate including public debates and presidential debate watch parties.

Teaching Interests:
Richard teaches courses in argument, public speaking, and group communication. He focuses on helping students to build skills to help them fully participate in civic culture. He has recently completed his 10th year teaching at UNI.
