Physics Major Selected for Research in the Capitol Event

Lukas Stuelke

‌Senior B.S. Physics major Lukas Stuelke was selected to represent UNI at the annual Research in the Capitol event in Des Moines on February 21. Research in the Capitol is a collaborative effort of the honors programs of the three Regents universities and is intended to celebrate undergraduate research in a variety of fields.  Students from the three state institutions will present their research in poster format in the First Floor Rotunda of the Iowa Statehouse. State senators, representatives, and other key officials will be invited to view the poster presentations and talk with students about their research and education. Lukas’s research deals with the electronic and magnetic properties of Heusler alloys, which have generated significant interest recently because of their potential for applications in information processing. Lukas’s work was supervised by Physics faculty member Dr. Pavel Lukashev.
