Jeff’s research broadly addresses a range of public relations scholarship, including entrepreneurship education, crisis communication, reputation management, and public relations ethics. His interdisciplinary work also connects public relations and to science communication (STEM teaching); communication and law (e.g., social protest in the courtroom, representations of legal cultures in the media); and communication and religion (religious discourse during crisis).

Teaching Interests

Offering a wealth of world experience to the classroom, Jeff teaches in all areas of public relations. Expanding beyond PR, he also teaches research methods, communication theories, and even oral communication. Jeff emphasizes critical thinking, knowledge of the discipline, and professional preparedness, and helps his students synthesize and connect their academic experiences together.
