Caroline S. Ledeboer

Assistant Professor of Instruction of English

English and TESOL Advisor

Caroline Ledeboer teaches English linguistics and creative writing with a special focus in creative nonfiction. She advises English and TESOL majors and TESOL, writing, and literary studies minors. She holds an M.F.A. in Nonfiction Writing and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Iowa, and has taught both ESL and writing for the past 21 years. Her most recent role was as writing center director with the aim to provide a place for students to talk about their writing.  Originally from the Netherlands, Caroline has long been interested in English language structure and how it may assist in creative expression. Her essays and prose poetry have been published on Narrative.com and in Sentence, among others. As a singer and songwriter besides, she has published seven albums with the duo Eacret and Ledeboer. Caroline has two children who have successfully navigated college during a pandemic, and she currently lives in Cedar Falls with her dogs Coco and Mistletoe.
