Sarina studies the impacts of information technologies on the experience of the self, and the structures of social relationships. She is the co-editor of Information Technologies and Social Orders (1996) by Carl J. Couch, Online Research Methods: Methods, Issues and Ethics (2004), and Symbolic Interaction and New Social Media (2014). She is a recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Author Contribution Award, presented by Emerald Literati Network for Excellence, London, UK. She is also the founder and program manager of the Carl Couch Center for Social and Internet Research (www.cccsir.com) since 2000. Sarina also edited the Iowa Journal of Communication, 1997-1999.
