UNI is home to the only ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering Technology program in the state.  In this extremely hands-on, broad-based program, students learn electrical engineering principles from an applied approach.

Students focus on programming microcontrollers, debugging data acquisition systems, and simulating sequential logic circuits, just to name a few things.  Every course in the curriculum includes multiple laboratory-based activities – something that makes UNI stand out in the engineering world.

Outside of the classroom, we will connect you with internships and co-op opportunities with industry-leading partners such as John Deere, Collins Aerospace, and BAE Systems – helping you build your professional network, and fine-tune your resume.

Hands-On Learning

Some of the most impactful learning experiences happen beyond the textbook. In the Department of Applied Engineering & Technical Management, you'll learn by doing. Every student completes a senior design or research project, choosing a topic that interests them – whether it’s exploring new uses for GPS technology, or creating a solar-powered boat.
