Darrell Taylor is a museum professional and an intermedia artist whose work has been shown nationally and internationally. Taylor served as the Gallery's interim director before his current appointment and has taught at UNI as an adjunct instructor in art. As the gallery director, he is responsible for planning, organizing, curating, publicizing, installing, and fundraising for nine major art exhibitions each year as well as the training of student staff. He also serves as overseer of the UNI Permanent Art Collection, which entails housing, conserving, and exhibiting art objects as well as fundraising for collection care with the all-volunteer Friends of the UNI Permanent Art Collection & Gallery (PAC&G). He is the author of all published materials produced by the Gallery since his appointment as well as numerous project grants; for example, Iowa Arts Council, Humanities Iowa, Elizabeth Firestone Graham Foundation, and two Museum and Library Services Collection Stewardship grants. In 2010, with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds, he supervised the renovation of the UNI Permanent Art Collection storage facility.
