Computer Science Education Certificate

Computer science is one of the fastest growing fields, and it’s no surprise that the demand for computer science teachers is growing alongside it.

In addition to explaining the fundamentals of computing, these teachers will be showing their students the merits of problem-solving, creativity and collaboration that come with the field of computer science.

This computer science education certificate at UNI is appropriate for teaching majors who are interested in adding experience in computer science to a teaching license.

This certificate is meant for students with a teaching major in a discipline outside of computer science. It consists of the coursework approved by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners to qualify for the addition of the state's Computer Science endorsement #278 on a state teaching license.
