Summer Workshops & Courses

With a commitment to providing professional learning opportunities and professional development, science education and other STEM faculty facilitate workshops and courses for both future and existing teachers. These workshops and courses introduce teachers to the latest research-based and NGSS aligned instructional resources & strategies and provide support to implement in their grades K-12 classrooms. They focus on various science subjects including geology, astronomy, weather, physical science and physics.

Iowa Geology Course Workshop

Applications due: February 14, 2023

Online via Panopto and/or Zoom: March 7 & 21; April 4 & 18; May 2, 2023

On the UNI campus: June 19-22, 2023

Earn two units of graduate credit and learn how to bring Iowa’s geological resources into your classroom through an activity-based short course through the University of Northern Iowa.
