Graduate Scholarships

Science education provides two scholarships for students pursuing the MA in science education. These scholarships include the Cherin Lee Endowed Graduate Scholarship and McCalley Endowed Scholarship.   

Scholarship application instructions are announced to current graduate students in late spring (April/May) each year based on funding availability. Notification is sent via email by the science education graduate coordinator.

Note: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) does NOT need to be completed for MA science education students. 

Graduate Scholarships

All scholarship recipients must be in good standing in the program (GPA > 3.0) and be enrolled in courses during the award term whose tuition exceeds the amount of the award. Current students will be notified via email when scholarship applications are available. Award amounts vary depending on availability of funds and number of applicants.

There are two scholarships available to students pursuing the MA in science education:

Cherin Lee Endowed Graduate Scholarship

This scholarship is for students with Masters in Science Education who have completed at least three of the five required courses for the MA or an amount commensurated in the event the number of required courses is changed. Must have completed at least two courses/workshops of elective work. Award may be given during the academic year or during the summer. Multiple scholarships approximately from $500 to $1,000 may be awarded.    

McCalley Endowed Science Education Scholarship

This scholarship provides support for currently employed grades K-12 teachers who are fully admitted to the MA science education program or students who have a previous degree in related science field and who are fully admitted students seeking a second bachelor’s degree (2nd BA) in any secondary science teaching major. One scholarship approximately $1,000 may be awarded.
