Information on Applying

Students who are interested in admission to the graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Northern Iowa may apply for Fall (August), or Spring (January) Semester entry. Admission deadlines are January 20  for Fall admission and September 15  for Spring admission.

** NOTE: Application no longer requires GRE score! **

UNI's Tuition Information

To Apply:

To be considered for admission, prospective students must:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Communicative Sciences & Disorders (or other bachelor's degree and equivalent prerequisites) from an accredited college or university
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Unofficial transcripts, from all institution(s) attended, may be uploaded with your application. If accepted to UNI, OFFICIAL transcripts showing degree conferral must be sent by the institution(s)
  • Submit your resume
  • Complete our Clinical Observation Hours
  • Request three (3) letters of recommendation (to be completed through the electronic application)
  • Submit an Applicant Statement (State your desire to enter our graduate-level program, career goals and the attributes you possess that will make you successful in our program and as a future speech-language pathologist)
  • Apply directly to the University of Northern Iowa by completing the Graduate College admission form online. Online Graduate College Application
