Professional Writing Minor

Get hands-on experience writing for businesses and organizations.

The Professional Writing minor enables students to experience how their interest in writing, editing, reading, and analysis can be applied to workplace communications. Students also have the ability to take Professional Writing courses 'a la carte."

Professional Writing classes are customized to each student's individual academic and professional goals.

These courses are highly project-based, offering students real-world experience before they graduate. Students in Professional Writing courses at UNI have partnered with almost 300 organizational clients to craft non-hypothetical, professional-level communication projects. These collaborations also generate professional networking opportunities for students approaching graduation and entering the job market.

The professional writing minor pairs well with majors in fields such as English, Communication Studies, Biology, Math, Anthropology, Marketing, PR, and Education.
