The Migratory Education Program (MEP) is a federally funded program that provides supplemental educational opportunities to the children of migratory agricultural workers.

MEP works closely with school districts and agricultural employers to provide supportive services to eligible students.

Program Overview

The Migratory Education Program (MEP) is designed to ensure that migratory children, particularly those whose families are involved in temporary or seasonal work in agriculture or fishing, receive the educational support they need to succeed. The MEP helps mitigate the disruption that frequent moves can cause, providing supplemental services that ensure these children don’t fall behind in their academic achievements.

The MEP works in close collaboration with local schools, education agencies, and agricultural employers to provide targeted support for migratory students. The goal is to help these students access the same educational opportunities as their peers, despite the challenges of constant relocation.
