Hands-on Experience
The Botanical Center offers part-time, on campus employment for any current UNI student interested in working in a natural setting regardless of their major.
The experience is designed to enhance the student's skills and boost their resume when applying for positions after graduation. Employees will participate in a variety of greenhouse activities working directly with the Botanical Center Manager and Horticulturist.
Some of the areas the employee will gain experience in are:
- Daily care of the plant collection
- Propagation techniques
- Integrated Pest Management strategies
- Greenhouse building maintenance
- Equipment operation and trail maintenance
