Biology Minor
Biology – the study of life and living systems – is fundamental to understanding the world around us.
A minor in biology is a useful complement to many other disciplines, particularly in areas such as chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science, psychology, exercise science and physical therapy.
Requirements for a biology minor include courses that are often required by professional health graduate programs: two general biology courses (BIOL 2051 and 2052), Chemistry I and II (CHEM 1110 and 1120 or equivalent), and 10-12 hours of eligible Biology electives*.
With a strong focus on learning by doing, our students are encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and make their own discoveries. Beyond the classroom, there are countless opportunities to participate in research with our award-winning faculty, or to get involved with our biology clubs.
